Marie-Louise, Empress of the French (1791-1847), and the King of Rome (1811-1832)

Vignette
The picture was commissioned by the Empress herself as a present to the Emperor, who placed it in the blue drawing-room of his apartment in the Tuileries. The King of Rome bears the insignia of imperial power: the great cordon of the Legion of Honour and a badge, symbol of the unity of the State.
