Allegory of the Peace of Amiens

Vignette
This work by the Arras-born painter Dominique Doncre celebrates the peace treaty with England signed at Amiens on 25 March 1802. In it, we see Bonaparte leading Mars and Bellona before peace who is setting the now useless weapons ablaze with his torch. Fame crowns the peaceful Consul, while in the background, Discord and Fury leave the scene.
